Exodus 7-8 • Pharaoh’s Hard Heart
This Sunday, we are going to look at the issue of Pharaoh’s Hard Heart, seen dramatically in Exodus 7–8.
Next week, we’ll double back through these chapters and look at the plagues in detail.
But for this Sunday, it is all about a “Heart Check”!
King David has a good word to mediate on as we prepare for the study on Sunday—
Psalm 51
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me away from Your presence
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation
And sustain me with a willing spirit.
And consider Proverbs 4—
20 My son, give attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your sight;
Keep them in the midst of your heart.
22 For they are life to those who find them
And health to all their body.
23 Watch over your heart with all diligence,
For from it flow the springs of life.
May your heart be soft and pliable under the Potter’s perfect touch, and stay on that potter’s wheel until you are shaped into the perfect image, the reflection of Jesus Christ!
Blessings,
~Jeff
